VinFast Reveals Lac Hong 900S & 800S Luxury EVs - Mercedes EQS Rival?
VinFast has unveiled two new flagship ultra-luxury electric vehicles - the VinFast Lac Hong 900S and VinFast Lac Hong 800S. The models were introduced in Hanoi as part of the company's broader strategy to restructure its vehicle portfolio and expand into the high-end luxury EV segment.
The new models join the existing Lac Hong range, which also includes the previously revealed 900 LX. With the reveal of the two new cars, VinFast has reorganised its lineup into three brand lines: Lac Hong for ultra-luxury vehicles, the VF range for mass-market passenger EVs, and a Green line dedicated to commercial mobility products.
Vinfast Lac Hong 900S & 800S: Performance & Powertrain
Both the Lac Hong 800S and 900S are offered with a tri-motor electric powertrain, featuring one motor on the front axle and two on the rear axle. The system produces a combined output of 460kW (625hp).
Both the 800S and 900S are also equipped with a fully active suspension system, which VinFast says is designed to deliver improved ride comfort and stability while maintaining dynamic performance expected from vehicles in this segment.
VinFast Lac Hong 900S & 800S: Design & Features
The exterior design of the two new Lac Hong models incorporates several visual elements inspired by Vietnamese culture. The front grille uses vertical slats that reference bamboo, while the wing-shaped badge draws inspiration from the mythical Lac bird.
Decorative patterns across the vehicles are also inspired by the Dong Son bronze drum and terraced rice fields, giving the cars a distinctive design identity tied to their Vietnamese heritage.
The Lac Hong 900S and 800S also adopt slightly different styling approaches. The Lac Hong 800S features a more modern design theme, while the 900S emphasises a more traditional and formal luxury appearance usually associated with the absolute top end of the electric luxury sedan side like the Rolls-Royce Spectre and the Mercedes-Maybach EQS.
Inside, both vehicles feature premium materials including Nappa leather upholstery, rare wood trim and gold-plated accents. The cabins also include executive-style seating, power-assisted doors and high-end entertainment systems.
The Lac Hong 900S luxury sedan also adds additional luxury elements such as a privacy partition, projection system and foldable workstation aimed at rear passengers.

VinFast has confirmed that the Lac Hong 800S and 900S are scheduled for commercial launch in 2027. They will serve as the flagship offerings in the company's ultra-luxury Lac Hong EV lineup.
