Tata Sierra X DWC Limited Edition Watch Launched At ₹16,999 - Limited To 500 Units

To celebrate the return of the iconic Tata Sierra, Indian microbrand Delhi Watch Company (DWC) has introduced a limited-edition automatic watch inspired by the SUV's design. The Tata Sierra X DWC timepiece has been launched at a price of ₹16,999, and production is limited to 500 numbered units.

The collaboration between Tata Motors and DWC marks a rare car-inspired watch project in India, translating the Sierra's distinctive design cues into a wearable form with the limited-edition watch adopting a clean design approach intended to echo the Sierra's rather recognisable styling.

Tata Sierra X DWC Limited Edition Watch - Design Inspired By The New Sierra SUV

The Tata Sierra X DWC draws several styling elements directly from the Sierra. Its case shape reflects the SUV's boxy silhouette, while the bezel design takes inspiration from the Sierra's angular B-pillar, a signature feature of the vehicle's design language.

Two dial variants are available:

  • White dial with an electroformed textured finish
  • Black dial with a vertically brushed finish

Both versions feature yellow Super-LumiNova lume on the indices for the 12,3,6, and 9'oclock markers as well as on the hands. This is the first time that DWC has used yellow Super-LumiNova lume on any of its watches.

The Tata Sierra X DWC timepiece uses a 316L stainless steel case, measuring 32.5 mm × 44 mm, with a thickness of 10 mm. It is paired with a matching solid-link 316L stainless-steel bracelet and also features a knurled screwdown crown which features a horse motif, which is said to be a tribute to the horses of Sanand, where the Sierra is manufactured.

The watch is protected by a sapphire crystal on both the front and the exhibition caseback, allowing the movement to be visible through the rear. The caseback also features custom artwork linked to the collaboration. Water resistance is rated at 50 metres, making the watch suitable for everyday use.

Powering the watch is the Miyota 9039 automatic movement, a Japanese mechanical calibre produced by Citizen's Miyota division. The movement operates at 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) and is known for its slim profile and reliable performance in modern mechanical watches. It also supports hacking seconds, allowing the seconds hand to stop when the crown is pulled out for more precise time setting.

The Tata Sierra X DWC watch is sold through Delhi Watch Company's official website and features a one-year warranty on the movement.
