VW Golf Design Vision GTI Concept
At the 2013 Worthersee in Austria, VW will showcase a souped up version of the latest Golf hatchback. Named Golf Design Vision GTI, and with a 500 HP V6 engine underneath the bonnet the concept vehicle promises to be a monster of a hatchback.
The design team, headed by VW head of design, Klaus Bischoff, have given the car a low slung design and all the typical race car design features such as air diffusers, air vents, aerodynamic lines and such.
The truly serious stuff is the 3.0 liter twin turbocharged V6 mill that generates a massive 496 HP of maximum power output and 560 Nm of peak torque between 4,000 rpm and 6,000 rpm. A dual clutch DSG transmission delivers the massive amount of power to both front and rear axles. Putting down all that power to the asphalt are 235/35 and 275/30 tyres at the front and rear respectively.
Courtesy of all that power the VW Golf Design Vision GTI can reach nearly 300 km/h, while the 100 km/h mark is reached in 3.9 seconds, which is more than two seconds quicker than the Golf GTI Performance Edition.
