Maruti To Expand Its Service Network

Maruti is taking steps to revive its status in the car market and to attain its target of 2 million cars by another five years, it is strengthening its service network by adding 1500 numbers to the existing 2700.

Maruti had earlier proposed to expand its dealer network at an investment of Rs 250 crore but now the increase of dealer network will involve the dealers. The proposed expansion scheme, Maruti Authorized Service Station (MASS) is being formulated by the company"s officials and the dealers jointly.

By this there will be a service center at every 25 kilometers across the country. The company"s EO for Service said that the rise in the service stations will make to 2000 cities by 2015 from the existing 1300 cities. The scheme will provide job opportunities to 55000 persons from the current 33000 persons. Maruti foresees its sale volume to peak to 1.75 million in another three years. Maruti has a wide range of cars at the price tag of Rs 2 lakh to Rs 16 lakh and possesses 50 percent share in the Indian car market.
