High Speed Driving Certainly Not Safe

Car Crash
The automobile has emerged as not just a means of transport from point A to Point B, but also as a device that offers thrills and excitement at high speeds. Motor racing has emerged as one of the highest watched sports in the world. But unfortunately much of the racing is not happening on the race track but on our roads putting the lives of many people at risk.

The number of high speed accidents have increased over the years. There are reports of road accidents happening on highways on any given day. These accidents are happening mostly during the night when people attempt to push their vehicles to the limit. High speed driving definitely offers a huge thrill to some people but the question is if a few moments of thrill is worth a lifetime?

People who have access to fast cars tend to drive them fast anywhere and every where not considering the damage they could cause to life and property. Our highways have become more and more unsafe due to such high speed driving. Highways around major cities in particular have become the locations for a number of such impromptu races. With little or no traffic police, people attempt to hit high speeds. There have been cases of some drivers being while driving.

Such drivers are not only putting their lives at risk but also their companions in the vehicle along with other road users. People have to remember that a car is a metal box that can crush you if not handled properly. Speed limits have been set with a purpose and that is to protect lives. Once cannot drive at high speeds in city roads thanks to the traffic (This is the only reason why we can appreciate high traffic), but the moment you find open roads you feel you are driving a Formula 1 car.

Drivers need to have a calm mind while driving. Some people feel they have to overtake each and every vehicle in front of them. This is a very dangerous practice. Then there is another set of people who get worked up when their vehicle is overtaken by somebody. They try to get ahead and hit high speeds. This is unnecessary. A safe journey must always be a priority and driving at high speeds does not ensure you have a safe drive.

Drive slow, save lives.
