Hyundai Mulls Legal Action Against Delhi Belly
Delhi Belly produced by Aamir Khan Productions and UTV Motion Pictures is a comedy set in New Delhi. Hyundai Motors India is said to be unhappy with the way a car that looks like a Hyundai Santro has been shown in the film. Further it has also expressed displeasure about some of the dialogues that are critical about the car.
A Hyundai Motors India spokesperson said: “Our legal team is looking into the matter and watching the film clips. Accordingly, we will decide our future course of action." The said car in the film does not clearly indicate if the car is exactly a Hyundai Santro.
An Aamir Khan Productions spokesperson said: “We haven't got any intimation or letter from any motor company." Delhi Belly stars Aamir khan's nephew Imran Khan in the lead.
The Hyundai Santro was the Korean carmaker's best selling car in India and established the firm as India's second highest selling carmaker in India. The Hyundai i10 is currently the company's highest selling model.
