2013 International Engine Of The Year Awards

The 2013 edition of the International Engine of the Year awards saw several engines retain their number one position from last year. This included Ford's 1.0 liter EcoBoost engine, which was the overall winner for the second consecutive year. The 999cc, three cylinder, turbocharged unit features in the upcoming Ford EcoSport as well as international variants of Ford Fiesta and Ford Focus. Besides being the overall winner, the frugal, yet powerful Ford EcoBoost engine also won the award in the sub 1.0 liter category.

Other engines in the overall category included the VW 1.4 liter TSI unit found in the Polo, followed by BMW 2.0 liter twin-turbo 4 cylinder unit, Porsche's 2.7 liter unit, Ferrari F12berlinetta's 6.3 liter naturally aspirated V12, BMW/PSA 1.6 liter turbo petrol, McLaren MP4-12C's 3.8 liter V8 and the Audi 2.5 liter 5 cylinder unit.
