Felipe Massa To Leave Ferrari; Kimi Raikkonen Likely Replacement
Ferrari's Formula 1 driver Felipe Massa will not be part of the team after the end of the ongoing season. The announcement was made by Massa himself, via a Twitter post and on Instagram.
"From 2014 i will no longer be driving for Ferrari. I would like to thank the team for all the victories and incredible moments experienced together," he posted.
"Thank you also to my wife and all of my family, to my fans and all my Sponsors. From each one of you I have always received a great support! Right now I want to push as hard as possible with Ferrari for the remaining 7 races."

Massa joined Ferrari in 2006 and his 7 year long career with Ferrari is the longest driver-team partnership at present. In his years with Ferrari he has won a total of 11 races and came very close to snatching the 2008 Driver's Championship from Lewis Hamilton.
However, things have not been going well for the Brazilian lately. Particularly, post his near fatal accident in 2009. Massa has since struggled to keep up with his team mate, Fernando Alonso and it looks like Ferrari finally took the decision to call it quits with Massa. He will be back for the 2014 F1 season if he manages to get a berth on another team.
"For next year, I want to find a team that can give me a competitive car to win many more races and challenge for the Championship which remains my greatest objective! Thank you all." Massa added.
Speculations are rife regarding the replacement man. The most popular name being taken is that of Kimi Raikkonen. Currently with Lotus, the Iceman won his drivers' championship with Ferrari in 2007. A pair up of Kimi and Alonso is something everyone is looking forward to. An official announcement is expected soon.
