Ferrari 458 With $1M Wheels Gets Ignored On eBay
We have all heard about those outrageously expensive cars, costing million of dollars. Usually, the price is justified purely because such cars are usually engineering marvels, built in limited numbers or due to their ultra luxurious, personalised interiors.
The same can be said about a few modified cars, which have either been tuned to perform like a racecar or come packed to the brim with aftermarket parts, which once again, in some mad way, justifies the sky high price tag. The car we are talking about falls into the second category, but something is seriously wrong here because no one is ready to this particular car.

458 Italia
The car in question is a Ferrari 458 Italia. An extremely smart car which has won praises from all quarters due to its beautiful design, precision handling and because of how much fun it is to drive.

Engine
The car itself is a mid-range sports car from Ferrari, powered by a 4.5 liter engine delivering 562 HP and 540 Nm of torque.

Performance
Managed by a F1 style, dual clutch 7 speed transmission, the car can go from 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and can exceed 325 km/h.

Handling
But more than the power and speed, it is the handling that mesmerises drivers, which is the result of the clever aerodynamics, the precision engineered suspensions and 42/58 weight distribution.

Regular price
The usual price one would have to pay for this lovely car is $230,000, which by supercar terms, is a bargain, especially considering it is a Ferrari.

Latitude Wheels Ferrari 458
This particular model we are talking about is a modified one though and being sold by Latitude Wheels. Due to this, it has a few more additions in the form of carbon fiber interiors and such, which adds a few more bucks to take it to $290,000.

$1.29 million
Latitude Wheels put the Ferrari up for auction on eBay with a starting price of $1.29 million! Predictably, it received zero bids.

The wheels
Now comes the outrageous part. The additional $1 million comes from the wheels alone.

No diamonds?!
Now you might think these wheels are studded with precious stones and forged from some precious metal, but no. The wheels, manufactured by Vossen, look like any other expensive set of aftermarket alloy wheels, which would cost a fraction of a million dollars.

Specs
Measuring 21 inches upfront and 22 inches at the rear, they fall under the maker's Precision Series wheels and are shod in Pirelli tyres.

What we get for the price
Even after a little probing we failed to find what makes these wheels special for them to be worth $1million.

This is one mistake Latitude Wheels will never repeat.
