H D Kumaraswamy's Toyota Luxury Election Vehicle

With the coming of the election season appears the need for politicians to start undertaking poll campaigns and making this task easier for them are purpose built high-tech luxury vehicles. Vehicles that are modified to take care the technical requirements as well as providing the occupants comfort.

Karnataka's JD (S) President HD Kumaraswamy and former Chief Minister kick started his assembly poll campaign on the day of Shivaratri in a custom Toyota commuter van designed by a Bangalorean. Here are the details about the van.

The Toyota election van is equipped with four loudspeakers to deliver speech or pre recorded messages to the masses.

The van can seat seven people including the driver. This includes a single ‘maharaja' seat.

A washbasin, a television set, coffee machine, communication system and a refrigerator takes care of all the basic needs of the occupants.

A campaign specific feature is the hydraulic lift in the center. The lift, on which a cushion mat is laid, can be used as a table, a bench and as a stand, which raises the occupants through the sunroof to address the public.
