Renault Duster Detour Concept, A Modified Duster From Johannesburg
The Renault Duster is an SUV with a lot of design potential, as has been proved by various earlier special and limited edition models such as the Black Edition, the Adventure Limited Edition and the modified one by DC Design. Joining that list is yet another modified version of the Duster from Renault called Duster Detour.
Renault Duster Detour Concept, showcased at the ongoing Johannesburg International Motor Show, focuses on the off-roading abilities of the compact SUV, with the addition of touring specific modifications. And not to mention, an attention grabbing colour scheme. Take a look.

Renault Duster Detour Concept has been designed by Renault's European design studio, in association with a local design studio from Johannesburg.

Renault describes the Detour Concept as a cross between "Mad Max, Terminator and Dakar dust".

The first thing that catches the eye is the flashy pearl yellow paint that covers the front half of the SUV.

The matt grey paint that covers the rear half of the SUV is reminiscent of the next-gen Duster concept from Frankfurt auto show. The bold ‘Duster' decal on the sides make a statement.

In terms of functional modifications, the Detour Concept features increased ride height and 18 inch alloy wheels shod in all-terrain tyres.

Furthermore, the front fascia has been given a very appealing facelift in the form of daytime running lights in the headlamp cluster, a pair of projector lights mounted on the front bumper and roof mounted roof lights. The particularly large chrome Renault logo completes the new look.

Additional styling changes are tinted tinted windows, blacked out b-pillar and broad wheel arches.

Completing the Duster Detour Concept are the roof mounted spoiler, double exhaust outlets and a new diffuser.

Duster Detour Concept is unlikely to enter production as it is, but a variant or limited edition model could be released if it receives positive response.
