Datsun To Open Their Own Showrooms
Datsun have successfully launched their hatchback the GO in India. Nissan is the parent company of Datsun and both the Japanese brands are doing well in India. Nissan currently shares their showrooms with Datsun but they plan to start their own showrooms now.
Datsun plans to open their own showrooms within six to eight months. There is nothing wrong with work relations, Datsun believes their customers are different from Nissan customers and should get a different form of attention.

The Japanese company is also increasing the manufacturing capability of spares. Datsun will introduce two new facilities in the north and west of India to aid its main facility in Chennai. This however, would take over a year but the process is underway.
Nissan India Operations President Kenichiro Yomura explains, that the plan was always to have separate showrooms in the coming years. Datsun however, has witnessed huge success and it was the right time to move forward and have their own showroom. Datsun is expected to have their first showroom ready in the current fiscal.

Datsun has received great response from customers since its launch in March, 2014. They have reported bookings of over 5,000 units already and the bookings are increasing. The priced their entry level hatchback at an attractive price of INR 3,12,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). Their top end variant is available at a price of INR 3,70,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).
Nissan is expected to launch an updated version of their Sunny sedan for India. While Datsun will roll out their second model for India, the GO Plus, which will be an MPV.
