Renault Entry Level Car Below Rs 4 lakh Coming In 2015
Renault India CEO & MD Sumit Sawhney has stated that the company will launch its first entry level car next year that will be placed in the same category as the Alto.
The French automaker wants to increase its current market share of 2.6 percent to 5 percent in the next 3 to 4 years. The company believes its sub-4 lakh car will help it achieve that goal.

Renault is aware of the huge potential that exists in this segment of cars in India, which the company has not tapped into yet. But it won't be that way for long.

The Go hatchback, scheduled to be launched on March 19, by Datsun, Renault's partner Nissan's sub-brand, also falls under the same category which Renault is targeting. With the top end variant selling for under INR 4 lakhs Datsun Go is expected to create a storm, potentially putting a stop to Maruti's seemingly perpetual monopoly.
The question, however, that pops up is what will be Renault's small car like. The automaker is unlikely to develop a brand new car. A more likely possibility is a rebadged Datsun Go.
