Parking Is The Biggest Cause Of Damage To Cars: Research
According to a recent research conducted by Allianz, most of the damage that happens to cars is during parking! Unbelievable.
Most if the insurance claims are for large vehicles such as Vans and SUVs. Around 70 percent of insurance claims are due to parking damages.
In most of these cases, damage to a vehicle happens while leaving the parking lot, instead of damages happening while trying to park.
One probable cause for such accidents and damages are because of how modern vehicles are designed. Vehicles get bulkier and curvier, but the parking lot and space remains the same.
Out of all the claims that come in, almost half of it occurs while reverse parking a vehicle, which involves two cars bumping into each other.
This research, conducted by Allianz Center for Technology (AZT) and Continental AG, analysed more than 3,500 traffic accidents.
