Mahindra Inaugurate Auto Steel Service Centre In Chakan, Pune
Mahindra Auto Steel has inaugurated its all-new Auto Steel Service Centre in Chakan, Pune. This facility has been inaugurated on 16th September 2015, amidst several dignitaries.
This is Mahindra's 7th steel service centre and the 3rd in Pune. The Indian manufacturer has invested INR 110 crore in Phase 1, while the facility is spread across ten acres and will have a capacity of processing 1,00,000 per year.
Harsh Kumar, M.D., Mahindra Intertrade Ltd., and Member, Group Executive Board, M&M Ltd. expressed, "It gives us immense pleasure to announce commencement of operations at our new plant in Chakan."
He further added, "This world-class facility located in the automotive hub of Chakan, and backed by the highest quality steel from our partners, would help redefine the automotive steel supply chain model in the region."
China Steel Global Trading Corporation, Taiwan and Mitsui & Co. Pte. Ltd., Singapore is in a joint venture with Mahindra Auto Steel for this new facility. The Indian manufacturer is a 51% stake holder, while others hold 24.5% each.
This facility will offer high-strength, high-speed and will manufacture nested blanks. They will also offer other higher levels of material yield to customers, thus providing an edge over their competitors.
