Mercedes-Benz C-Class 220 CDI has been launched in India. This diesel variant was a much awaited version of the C-Class. The German carmaker also commenced the production of the C-Class petrol variant at its plant in Chakan.

The The Mercedes-Benz C 220 CDI is powered by a 2143 cc, inline, 4-cylinder engine that produces 167 bhp between 3,000 to 4,200 rpm and 400 Nm of torque between 1,400 to 2,800 rpm.
The engine is mated to a 7-speed automatic gearbox called the 7G-Tronic Plus.
