Aston Martin DB11 Sings A Rather Different Tune — AMG Lunacy At Work?

Aston Martin's DB11 is the start of a new turbocharged revolution at the English carmaker.

However, before the first turbocharged V12 DB11 reaches the doorstep of customers, Aston has already started testing a turbocharged V8 engine supplied by a rather Germanic carmaker, Mercedes-Benz. The V8 engine is part of a deal that saw Daimler, the parent company of Mercedes take a five percent stake in Aston Martin.

The new turbocharged V8 has been tweaked by Merc's in-house nutjobs at AMG and will first be seen on the DB11 before making its way over to the 2018 V8 Vantage.
