India Bound Hyundai Compact SUV 'Kona' Teased
Hyundai Kona compact SUV will make its debut in summer and will go on sale from October 2017.
The all-new Hyundai Kona has been announced this week, stemming its title from the coastal Hawaiian region of the same name.

The Hyundai Kona is set to be launched worldwide in the months ahead; the Kona will likely make its debut at the 2017 New York motor show. The compact SUV will be based on Hyundai's i30, which could make the crossover slightly bigger.

The Kona will be positioned below the Tucson in the Korean manufacturer's line-up and will rival with the likes of Honda HR-V and Toyota C-HR.

A teaser image provided beside the name reveal shows off a headlamp design opposed to anything currently in Hyundai's product portfolio, hinting the Kona will usher in a new Hyundai design language.

Hyundai insists the Kona will offer best-in-class interior space, and has been built with a focus on driving dynamics and looks to set new performance standards in the compact SUV segment.

The Hyundai Kona crossover likely gets the latest engines - a 1.4-litre four cylinder petrol motor, and a 1.6-litre diesel offered in at least two states of tune.
