Three new race tracks will be constructed in India which will be a major push for motorsports in the country.

In a bid to promote motorsports in the country, India could soon get three new race tracks. Motorsport.com reports that three new race tracks will be built in the country.

The three new race tracks will be constructed in Hosur (Tamil Nadu), Hyderabad (Telangana) and between Mumbai and Pune (Maharashtra).

The new race tracks could change the face of motorsports in India. Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI) President Akbar Ebrahim confirmed the development and stated that they were in talks with private parties from three locations.

Ebrahim denied to reveal any further information as it has to be kept confidential. But he said that all the investment would come from the private corporate sector and it has nothing to do with the government.

    Speaking about the role of FMSCI, he said that they would support the private firms in terms of homologation and specification of the circuit. A race track can be built in different grades and FMSCI will provide different specifications for each grade.

    Currently, there are three race tracks in India, Buddh International Circuit (FIA Grade 1) in Greater Noida, Madras Motor Race Track (FIA Grade 2) in Sriperumbudur and the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore. Apart from that, there are international level karting tracks in Bangalore and Hyderabad.

    Ebrahim said that the new race tracks would provide the much-needed boost for Indian motorsport. With the construction of three new race tracks, people will have easy access to the circuits. Currently, one has to travel a long distance to access a race track.

    The government should also support the private investors in building new race tracks in the country. The three new circuits will help to bring out more talents in the country. With the proper infrastructure in place, the Indian motorsport can reach a new high.
