Meet The New Lamborghini Terzo Millennio — World’s First Self-Repairing Supercar
Lamborghini has created the world's first self-repairing supercar, the Terzo Millennio.
Italian supercar manufacturer Lamborghini has created the world's first self-repairing supercar, the Terzo Millennio. In Italian, Terzo Millennio translates as the third millennium.
The Lamborghini Terzo Millennio is capable of detecting and repairing cracks within its bodywork.

The Terzo Millennio is equipped with sensors which can perform a scan to detect any damages to the bodywork and can self-repair itself by using nanotubes to fill the cracks and avoids the damage from spreading. The supercar has been created in partnership with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston.

The Lamborghini Terzo Millennio is an all-electric car and draws power from supercapacitors as opposed to the batteries seen on a conventional electric vehicle. The energy storage system of the supercar allows rapid charging and holds more power than a battery pack.

The supercapacitors are made out of carbon and can be integrated into the car's body panels as they are lighter and smaller as compared to the traditional batteries used in the conventional electric vehicles.

The Lamborghini Terzo Millennio is equipped with the integrated electric engine on each wheel which glows when the car is on the move. Lamborghini had started the project a year ago when it signed an agreement with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Lamborghini boss, Stefano Domenicali said, "Collaborating with MIT for our research and development department is an exceptional opportunity to do what Lamborghini has always been very good at - rewriting the rules on super sports cars. Now we are presenting an exciting and progressive concept car."
