Land Rover Discovery launched in India. Prices for the all-new Land Rover Discovery start at Rs 71.38 lakh ex-showroom (India) and going up to Rs 1.08 crore depending on the variant. Bookings for the new Discovery begun a couple of months ago.
The new Land Rover Discovery is the fifth-generation model ever since the nameplate debuted in 1989. The new Discovery is built on Land Rover's lightweight full-size SUV architecture (PLA platform).
The new Discovery is lighter by 480kg, faster and more capable than the previous generation model. The 7-seater full-size SUV is available in two engine options: a 3.0-litre V6 petrol and a 3.0-litre diesel engine.

The 3.0-litre V6 petrol unit produces 335bhp and 450Nm of torque, while the 3.0-litre diesel engine develops 254bhp and 600Nm of torque. Both the engines come mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
The V6 petrol model has a top speed of 245km/h and can sprint from 0-100km/h in 7.1 seconds. The diesel model of the Discovery boasts a top speed of 209km/h and a sprint time of 8.1 seconds.
The new Land Rover Discovery comes with a host of features including industry firsts such as full-sized spare wheel with an automatic tyre lifting option and intelligent seat fold functionality. Other prominent features include the 10-inch InControl Touch Pro Infotainment system which gets Android Auto and Apple CarPlay along with 14-speaker Meridian digital surround system.
The new Discovery is the most capable Discovery ever with a permanent four-wheel drive which comes with a choice of two intelligent systems: a single speed transfer box for optimal on-road conditions or a two-speed box for challenging conditions.
Regarding safety features, the new Land Rover Discovery comes with front side airbags, curtain airbags, Anti-lock Brakes, Electronic Brake Force Distribution, cornering brake control, stability control, emergency brake assist and a surround camera system.
