Hyundai Unveils Next-Gen Verna In India; Launch Date Revealed

Hyundai has revealed the next-generation Verna in India. The new sedan will be launched on August 22, 2017. The automaker has also released the technical details of the India-spec model.

The fifth-generation Verna is based on the K2 platform built on advanced high-strength steel which improves body rigidity and crash performance.The chassis of the new-gen Verna has been stiffened, and the suspension setup is new to deliver superior ride and handling.

The front suspension has been updated to reduce body roll when cornering. The rear suspension geometry has been modified for a stable and comfortable ride for rear passengers. Hyundai also claims that the strong body structure reduces the NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) levels.

The next-gen Verna will be offered with two engine options, a 1.6-litre petrol and 1.6-litre diesel engine. The petrol engine produces 121.3bhp, and the diesel motor churns out 126.2bhp. The transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox tuned for superior low and high speed performance with high fuel efficiency.

The exterior of the new Verna features hexagonal front grille, LED daytime running lights, projector headlamps and 16-inch alloy wheels. The interior of the sedan gets 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

Hyundai has officially commenced the bookings for the new Verna at all the dealerships across the country.
