Porsche Cayenne Breaks World Record For Towing An Airbus A380
The Guinness World Record for heaviest aircraft pull by a production car once again belongs to Volkswagen Group's Porsche Cayenne.
We know the Porsche Cayenne SUV is powerful, fast, efficient and pretty decent off-road as well. But no one expected it to break the world pulling record.

Yes, the Porsche Cayenne broke the record by pulling a jumbo-jet weighing over 100 times more than the average SUV. The most important aspect is that it was completely production vehicle.

Porsche employed a European-spec 2017 Cayenne S Diesel to secure the Guinness World Record for the heaviest aircraft pulled by a production car.

The Cayenne pulled an Air France Airbus A380, which weighs about 285 metric tonnes (approximately 285,000 kg). A Porsche Cayenne S Diesel managed to reach 42-metres of the tarmac at Charles de Gaulle Airport.

The previous record was 170 metric tonnes, set over 50m by a Nissan Patrol in the UAE, so this is a massive increase.
The SUV was not modified to accomplish this record. The Cayenne employed a standard tow bar, to which a particular towing attachment was fixed.

The Porsche Cayenne's diesel motor churns out about 372bhp and 850Nm of torque. So why did Porsche wanted to achieve this feat? Well, why not. This feat is an excellent exercise to exhibit how strong and reliable an entirely standard Cayenne is.
