We had already reported about India getting its first-ever Tesla, a Model X electric SUV which was imported by a Mumbai resident.

Now, a video has been uploaded to Youtube, in which we can see the Model X in action on the Indian roads.

The Tesla Model X has been imported by Prashant Ruia, the CEO of the Essar Group. The imported electric SUV is finished in Deep Blue Metallic colour. Currently, the Model X is the only SUV sold by Tesla in the global market.

    The Tesla Model X is a seven-seater electric SUV, and it retails for $130,000 (approximately Rs 83.46 lakh). But when imported to India, the Model X comes with a price tag of around Rs 2 crore.

    The Tesla Model X is a high-performance SUV which can outgun a lot of sports cars around the world. The electric SUV is equipped with two electric motors which drive the front and rear axles.

    The electric motor on the front axle produces 255bhp, and the rear motor is good for 496bhp. The total output of the Model X stands at a massive 967Nm of torque. The SUV can sprint from 0-100km/h in just 4.8 seconds before topping out at 250km/h.

    Tesla also offers a faster variant of the Model X named as P90D which can accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 3.8 seconds. The P90D also comes with a ‘Ludicrous' mode which propels the SUV from 0-100km/h in just 3.2 seconds.

    The Tesla Model X is also equipped with a semi-autonomous driving system called as Auto Pilot. Tesla has already revealed its plans to enter the Indian market with its most affordable car, the Model 3. But the company is yet to confirm the launch timeline.

    The Indian government is planning to go all-electric by 2030, and the entry of Tesla to the Indian market could be vital in achieving this goal. But without a proper charging infrastructure, the electric vehicles might face a problem in the country. But it's good to see a Tesla on the Indian roads, and we hope the company officially enters the Indian market very soon.
