How To Apply For HSRP & Colour-Coded Fuel Stickers In Delhi? Here Is The Process In 10 Easy Steps
The Transport department recently issued a public notice which urges all motorists in Delhi, to install High Security Registration Plates (HSRP) and colour-coded fuel stickers on their vehicles. The notice also stated that vehicles found without HSRP and fuel stickers will be fined a hefty amount, under the Motor Vehicles Act.

Currently, all new vehicles being registered in the national capital (and across India) come with HSRP and colour-coded fuel stickers as standard from the dealerships. However, the older vehicles on the roads, still carry the standard registration plates.

With both of them now being made mandatory in Delhi, there is a lot of confusion on how to apply and receive HSRP and fuel stickers. To clear this confusion, we have compiled the entire process in 10 simple steps, which will allow you to secure the HSRP and fuel stickers for your vehicles.

Step 3: Customers will then have to choose the fuel type of the vehicle, between petrol, diesel, CNG, CNG/LPG + Petrol or Electric.
Step 4: Here customers confirm the vehicle type, between two, three or four-wheelers or other commercial vehicles.

Step 5: This is where customers go through the list to select the manufacturer name for their vehicles
Step 6: Here customers have to select their state. Currently, only Delhi (DL) and Uttar Pradesh (UP) have begun accepting registrations.

Step 7: Applicants will now have to select their nearest vehicle dealerships, where they can get their HSRP affixed.

Step 10: Finally, customers can make the payment online. The payment receipt will be sent to the customer via SMS and email.

Thoughts On The HSRP & Colour-Coded Fuel Stickers
HSRP was mandated on all new vehicles sold in the Indian market. The HSR plates come with anti-theft screws and a hologram sticker containing all the vehicle details. The introduction of HSRP is to ensure a reduction in vehicle theft and other misuse.
