German luxury carmaker BMW has launched the 520d M Sport in India. The new BMW 520d M Sport luxury sedan is being offered up at a price of Rs 68.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
With the arrival of the new BMW 520d M Sport, the 5 Series lineup from the Bavarian carmaker in India now consists of two variants. Alongside the newly launched 520d M Sport, the BMW 5 Series is also offered up in the 530i M Sport guise.
The price of the BMW 530i M Sport has also gone up by Rs 90,000 and the petrol-powered 5 Series now costs Rs 65.40 lakh (ex-showroom). BMW has also discontinued three variants of the 5 Series that were previously available - 530d M Sport, 520d Luxury Line and the limited-run 50 Jahre M Edition.
The BMW 520d M Sport draws power from a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine that is rated at 188bhp and 400Nm of peak torque. The 520d M Sport's engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to the rear wheels.
The new BMW 520d M Sport variant of the 5 Series differs from the discontinued 520d Luxury Line cosmetically and gets quite a few upgrades. The 520d M Sport sedan comes fitted with the M Aerodynamics package that adds gloss black kidney grilles, sportier bumpers and side skirts.
The new BMW 520d M Sport rides on 18-inch alloy wheels behind which sit the M Sport disc brakes with callipers finished in Blue. The exhaust setup for the 520d M Sport gets a chrome finish for the tips.
