Honda City Facelift Model Launch Soon – Likely To Get More Features, Upgraded Engine

Honda launched the fifth-generation City sedan back in 2020 and the Japanese automaker is now looking forward to launching the facelifted version of the sedan in March.

In terms of the design, the upcoming updated version of the Honda City sedan is likely to feature redesigned front and rear bumpers along with new alloy wheels, new taillamps, new headlights, and a slightly refreshed interior consisting of different upholstery and some new features.

Honda City Facelift Model Launch Soon – Likely To Get More Features, Upgraded Engine

Speaking about the features, the current 5th Gen Honda City already comes with a long feature list yet misses out on a few key features such as a wireless charging pad and ventilated seats. As such, we expect the upcoming updated iteration of the Honda City sedan to come with these features.

That being said, the outgoing version of the Honda City comes with features such as an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a surround sound speaker system, full LED headlamps, automatic climate control, 7-inch full-colour TFT instrument display, ambient lighting and much more.

In terms of powertrain, the upcoming version of the Honda City is likely to carry forward the current engine options but will be modified slightly to meet upcoming RDE emission norms. It is also said that these engines will also be designed to be compatible with E20 fuel as well.

At present, the 1.5-litre, naturally-aspirated petrol engine puts out 120bhp of peak power and 145Nm of peak torque. Furthermore, this engine can be specified with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a CVT gearbox. On the other hand, the 1.5-litre Atkinson cycle engine produces 97bhp of peak power and 127Nm of peak torque, whereas the electric motor that is part of the hybrid system puts out 108bhp. In total, the hybrid system together produces 125bhp and 253Nm of torque.

Thoughts About The Upcoming Honda City Facelift

We expect the launch of the facelifted version of the Honda City to boost the sales of the sedan by a considerable margin. Furthermore, we expect the Japanese automaker to introduce new features in the updated model to help it better compete with its rivals such as the upcoming new Hyundai Verna, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Virtus and a few more.
