Speaking with Sharad Agarwal, Head Lamborghini India, revealed quite a few more details about the Italian firm's performance in the Indian market and also gave us quite an insight into the minds of the Indian Lamborghini customer.
Agarwal revealed that the Urus accounted for around 60 per cent of Lamborghini sales in India. The Super-SUV was followed by the Huracan lineup on the sales charts with the flagship V12 model, which will soon be revealed in its latest avatar accounting for the rest.
Agarwal also revealed that the new Urus Performante accounted for a majority of the sales of the SUV in India. The current waiting period is 18 months for the lightweight, performance-oriented version of the Urus which was launched late last year.
Agarwal also revealed that both the Urus S and Performante models will be discontinued next year as part of Lamborghini's electrification plans and will be replaced by the Urus Hybrid.
However, the Urus will not be the only hybrid Lamborghini that will come to India. The replacement for the flagship Aventador is just a few weeks away and the firm recently revealed the 1,001bhp V12 hybrid setup that will power it. The replacement for the current V10 model, the Huracan, will also be a hybrid that will come to India.
We asked Agarwal about how Lamborghini was changing the supercar/ super SUV after-sales experience in India? Agarwal replied that Lamborghini differentiated itself from other supercar brands in India by being more involved in the after-sales setup - organizing events like the dirt track drive for Urus Perf customers which helps customers experience the vehicles to the fullest.
