Modified Volkswagen Virtus - More Than Rs. 2.50 Lakh Spent On Upgrades
The Volkswagen Virtus is a good-looking car, which comes feature packed. It has an incredibly smooth ride with top-class fuel efficiency. But, as the car community likes, we got to see a done up version of the car. Venom Performance and Check Engines Hyderabad worked together to customize a Volkswagen Virtus - read on to know what has been to the car, and how much power it produces.
The Virtus, the 1.0-litre turbocharged version, has been tuned to Stage 2. In the engine bay, we see a BMC high-performance air filter, a downpipe with 2.5-inch pipes, a Borla End Can, and a stage-2 ECU from Venom Performance. However, due to no transmission upgrades available, the Virtus is running a stock one.
To put things into perspective, the tuned Virtus puts out 145bhp and 250Nm of torque, which is the same power figure as the 1.5-litre Virtus GT.
Also, not to break traction, the car has Lenso Jager-Dyna Alloy Wheels wrapped in Michelin Primacy tyres with Cobra Lowering Springs. By doing this, power will not get wasted due to the spinning of wheels, and the handling will significantly increase.
In comparison, the stock Volkswagen Virtus has the same engine that pumps out only 110bhp and 178Nm of torque. The done-up Virtus has increased its power figures by 35bhp and 72Nm of torque - that is quite a bit for a city-going car!
Coming to the interior of the car - the Virtus doesn't have many upgrades, and is kept close to stock. We then see the startup of the car and hear a growl to it, clearly showcasing the sound of the new air filter, downpipes, and end cans.
With all these modifications and upgrades done to the Volkswagen Virtus, the client racked up a bill of close to Rs. 2,56,000!
Once we see the car being taken for a drive, we see the true potential of the Stage 2 tune, having a constant power delivery through the revs. Also, the new suspension set-up and tyres give the car a smoother but stiffer ride, with better traction and balance while cornering hard.
Thoughts On The Stage 2 Volkswagen Virtus
The Stage 2 Virtus is impressive, to say the least. Its modified engine, exhaust, and suspension make it a thrill to drive, and make it quite fun to watch, as well! But, spending two and a half lakhs on a build to give it the same power as the top-end model? Not too sure about that.
Instead, spending the same amount of money on a less-expensive car would be smarter as the results would be so much more satisfying. But, at the end of the day, each one to their own - and, a build is a build, regardless of what it is!
