As the electric vehicle (EV) market continues to surge on a global scale, the Chinese enterprise Chery New Energy, a part of the state-owned Chery Automobile Co., Ltd., has launched its newest entrant - the much anticipated New Little Ant.
This petite vehicle has released into the EV market with a starting price of 77,900 yuan (approximately Rs 8.92 lakh) and the top variant is priced at 82,900 yuan (approximately Rs 9.49 lakh).

Spotlight on The New Little Ant: Features and Specifications
Fierce competitors in the international marketplaces such as the Wuling Air EV and DFSK Seres E1 now have the new version of Chery’s Little Ant to contend with. Displaying a distinguished visual appeal and updated features from its predecessor - the Classic Little Ant, the New Little Ant typifies innovativeness and modernity. Despite being an upgraded model, the Classic Little Ant will continue to be available for sale in the market.
The New Little Ant EV is adorned with redefined exteriors encasing a neat front fascia highlighting new headlamps and Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) along with a closed-off front grill. The updated front grill proudly showcases a refreshed Qq logo.

The side panels of the New Little Ant are marked by unique, deeper grooves lending it a robust appeal. The rear profile, however, largely remains reminiscent of the Classic Little Ant. For those who appreciate a variety of choices with regards to the color variant, the New Little Ant offers a wider range of selections in comparison with its earlier version - seven color tones are available including dark green, light green, purple, peach, agave blue, white, and gray, while the Classic model was limited to only five hues.

The interiors of the New Little Ant have embraced modernism incorporating a redesigned dashboard, a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, stylish steering wheel, and sleeker air vents. The minimalist design language adopted significantly amplifies the perception of spaciousness within the cabin.

Premium features offered include a power-adjustable driver seat, wireless charging, leather seat upholstery, heated seats and steering wheel, a large makeup mirror fitted with LED lights, and a PM2.5 air filter.
The New Little Ant also has an impressive portfolio of advanced tech features such as voice controls and remote functions that can be accessed via an app. The safety kit is comprehensive and includes electronic stability control, hill assist control, tyre pressure monitoring system, rear parking sensors, a pedestrian warning system, cruise control, and automatic power off on a collision event.

Power Performance Specifications
Both the New Little Ant and Classic Little Ant derive their motivation from the same dimensions and powertrain configurations. These mini EVs measure 3,242 mm in length, 1,670 mm in breadth, 1,550 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,150 mm. The ground clearance stands at 120 mm and they have a turning radius of 4.55 meters.
The standard powertrain yields 50 PS of maximum power and 95 Nm of peak torque. Chery offers three battery variants with varying compositions for the New Little Ant. The 25.05 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery provides a range of 251 km, while the 28.86 kWh ternary lithium battery and the 29.23 kWh LFP battery offer a range of 301 km.

The superior-spec powertrain is capable of delivering 76 PS and 150 Nm. It is equipped with a 40.3 kWh ternary lithium battery that delivers a remarkable range of 408 km. These range figures are all based on the standard CLTC test cycle. Both models are offered in a Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) configuration.
