Tata Nexon Facelift Vs Maruti Suzuki Brezza – Mileage & Powertrain Comparison

Tata Motors recently launched the facelifted version of the Tata Nexon SUV in India. So far, the updated Tata Nexon has surpassed Tata Motors' expectations. That being said, the mileage of a vehicle continues to be a priority for a large section of customers.

As such, here's a quick mileage comparison between the newly launched Tata Nexon facelift SUV and the Maruti Suzuki Brezza SUV. The latter is a consistent performer in the sub-4m SUV category in India.

Tata Nexon Facelift Vs Maruti Suzuki Brezza

Starting with the powertrain, the newly launched Tata Nexon facelift SUV comes with two engine options. A 1.2-litre, turbocharged, petrol engine (118bhp and 170Nm of torque) and a 1.5-litre, turbocharged diesel engine (113bhp and 260Nm of torque). Also, both these engine options come with multiple transmission options.

On the other hand, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza SUV comes with just one engine. The 1.5-litre, naturally-aspirated petrol engine produces 99.2bhp and 136Nm of torque. This engine can be specified with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

According to Tata Motors, the Tata Nexon facelift SUV with the 1.2-litre, turbocharged petrol engine with 5-speed/6-speed manual transmission delivers a fuel efficiency of 17.44km/l. On the other hand, the 6-speed AMT variant is slightly less efficient at 17.18km/l.

With the launch of the facelifted version of the Tata Nexon SUV, Tata Motors also introduced a new 7-speed DCT gearbox with the turbo petrol engine. This powertrain setup delivers a fuel efficiency figure of 17.01km/l.

Coming to the diesel powertrain, the variant with a 1.5-litre, turbocharged diesel engine and 6-speed manual transmission delivers a fuel efficiency figure of 23.23km/l. Whereas, the automatic variant with the 6-speed AMT gearbox delivers an astonishing fuel efficiency of 24.08km/l.

The Maruti Suzuki Brezza SUV with manual transmission is rated to deliver a fuel efficiency of 17.38km/l. On the other hand, the automatic variant of the SUV is a lot more fuel efficient with an official fuel efficiency figure of 19.80km/l.
