1000 Miglia Experience China Launches With Historic Cars In Guangzhou
The 1000 Miglia is set to make its debut in China, with the first edition of the 1000 Miglia Experience China starting soon. This event, licensed by the Federation Classic Car China, will introduce the 1000 Miglia Style to Guangdong province in southern China. The exhibition at Tianhui Plaza in Guangzhou showcased 65 cars participating in the race, offering a preview to daily visitors.
These vehicles were categorised into six groups, ranging from design masterpieces eligible for the World's Most Beautiful Race of the 1000 Miglia Era Class (1927-1957) to those from the Post 1000 Miglia Era, which includes cars built after 1958. Technical and administrative checks took place today as a precursor to tomorrow's race start.
The race will cover a distance of 1,200 kilometres over four legs, passing through 11 cities. The stages will conclude in Yangjiang, Zhuhai, and Shenzhen before returning to Guangzhou for the final finish on Sunday afternoon. This journey offers foreign crews from China, Europe, Hong Kong, and Macau an opportunity to experience local culture and traditions.
Fulvio D'Alvia, CEO of 1000 Miglia, highlighted the significance of this event: "Let us remember that, as President Mattarella said on his recent trip to China, the relationship between Italy and China has ancient roots, has developed over the last few decades, and continues to grow in a positive, constructive, collaborative manner."
D'Alvia further explained that this debut presents a chance to enter a new market. He stated that the 1000 Miglia is both a cultural and sporting endeavour. Bringing these unique cars on roads in an unfamiliar setting offers significant development opportunities for their brand while allowing Chinese fans direct interaction with what is considered the most important regularity race for historic cars globally.
The winning team will not only secure historical recognition in this inaugural Chinese edition but also gain entry into the 2025 edition of the 1000 Miglia. This adds an extra layer of excitement and incentive for participants eager to make their mark in this prestigious event.
