Maruti has introduced the latest version of the Dzire in India, starting at Rs 6.79 lakh (introductory ex-showroom price) until 31 December. The car is available in four trims, with two engine choices and two transmission options.
The Dzire's pricing begins at Rs 6.79 lakh and peaks at Rs 10.14 lakh for the top-spec ZXi+ AMT model. This represents an increase of Rs 23,000 at the entry level and Rs 80,000 at the high end compared to previous variants.

Engine Options and Performance
The fourth-generation Maruti Dzire is equipped with a new 1.2-litre Z-Series petrol engine from Maruti. It comes with five-speed manual and AMT units, delivering 80bhp and 112Nm of torque. A CNG variant is also available, producing 68bhp and 102Nm.
The petrol manual variant claims a mileage of 24.79kmpl, while the automatic offers 25.71kmpl. The CNG model boasts an impressive mileage of 33.73km/kg.

Variant Highlights
Each variant of the new Dzire offers distinct features:
| Variant | Features |
|---|---|
| LXi | 14-inch steel wheels, projector headlamps, LED tail lamps, power windows, remote keyless entry, tilt steering adjustment. |
| VXi | ORVM indicators, day-night iRVM, 7-inch touchscreen with wireless mirroring, steering controls, OTA updates, rear armrest with cup holders. |
| ZXi | LED light package, tweeters, button start with smart key, auto headlamps, Suzuki connect, climate control. |
| ZXi+ | 360 camera, diamond-cut wheels, electric sunroof, cruise control. |
Safety Features and Ratings
The Dzire comes equipped with six airbags across all versions. It includes ESP, ABS with EBD, hill-hold assist and ISOFIX child seat mounts. Notably, it is Maruti's first car to achieve a five-star GNCAP crash test rating as revealed on 8 November.

Market Competition Analysis
The Dzire faces competition from models like Hyundai Aura, Tata Tigor and Honda Amaze. While it starts higher than Aura and Tigor in price but offers more features for the additional cost. The Amaze starts higher but tops out just below Dzire's highest price point.
SUVs such as Kiger and Magnite start below the Dzire but reach similar top-end prices offering SUV styling benefits like higher ground clearance without compromising on features.

Premium Hatchback Segment Comparison
The premium hatchback segment includes Baleno, Glanza and Hyundai i20. Among these options i20 stands out as most expensive both initially and at its top-end pricing not considering its N Line version.
If budget constraints are a concern then opting for ZXi variant might be ideal since it covers essential features without stretching finances too much unlike ZXi+ which adds more luxury-oriented 'brag' features that don't impact driving experience significantly.
