2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Everything We Know So Far

The Maruti Dzire is renowned for its impressive fuel efficiency, making it a top choice in the Indian market. Now, the Indo-Japanese automaker is looking forward to launch the latest generation of Dzire in India, and here are all things we know so far about the upcoming 4th generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire sedan.

Launch, Variants & Shades

The new 4th generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire sedan will be launched by its automaker today in India (November 11)). This upcoming Maruti Suzuki Dzire sedan will be available in four trims: LXI, VXI, ZXI, and ZXI+, with seven colour options including Gallant Red and Alluring Blue.

Design

The upcoming new Maruti Suzuki Dzire looks drastically different to the Swift hatchback, which the former is based on. This is a significant design departure compared to all three previous generations of Dzire sedans sold in India. In fact, the design of the new Dzire looks very similar to the outgoing iteration of the Honda Amaze with its sleeker-looking design elements.

That being said, the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Dzire sedan looks a lot more premium and proportionate than the model it replaces. Furthermore, the interior is similar to the latest Swift albeit with lighter-coloured materials for an airy feel.

Powertrain

The new Maruti Suzuki Dzire comes with the same Z Series 1.2L three-cylinder engine introduced in the latest Swift model. This engine replaces the previous generation's K-Series four-cylinder engine.

In petrol-only configuration, this engine produces a peak power output of 81.58PS and torque of 111.7 Nm. It can be paired with either a 5-speed manual transmission or an AMT unit. For those opting for the Petrol+CNG setup, it delivers up to 69.75 PS of power and torque reaching up to 101.8 Nm when coupled with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Mileage Figures

The official mileage figures highlight why the Dzire stands out among competitors. For petrol manual variants, Maruti Suzuki claims an efficiency rate of 24.79 km/litre while AMT petrol versions achieve slightly higher at approximately 25.71 km/litre.

CNG variants promise even greater fuel economy at around an impressive figure of about approximately 33 .73 km/kg according to company estimates.

Dimensions

The 4th Gen Maruti Suzuki Dzire adheres to the sub-4m length requirement, measuring 3,995 mm long, 1,735 mm wide, and 1,525 mm tall. It boasts a wheelbase of 2,450 mm and a ground clearance of 163 mm. Petrol variants offer a boot space of 382 litres; however, details about the CNG variant's boot space are yet to be disclosed.

Other Specifications

The kerb weight for petrol versions ranges from 920 kg to 960 kg based on variant and equipment levels, with a gross weight of 1,375 kg. CNG models weigh between 1,020 kg and 1,025 kg with a gross weight of 1,435 kg.

These variants come equipped with a CNG tank holding up to 55 litres of water equivalent capacity. All models feature 15-inch wheels paired with tyres sized at 185-section.
