2025 Honda CR-V e:FCEV Unveiled: A Practical Hydrogen-Powered SUV
Honda has announced its latest hydrogen fuel cell-powered SUV for the US market, the 2025 Honda CR-V e:FCEV. This SUV shows Honda's ability to use abundant hydrogen as a clean energy source.
This isn't the first time Honda has decided to dip their hands in hydrogen car. Previously their manufactured the Clarity which was discontinued in 2017. Hydrogen contains very low amounts of energy making it difficult to store as it requires high pressures, low temperatures, or chemical processes for safe storage.

The 2025 Honda CR-V e:FCEV claims a range of 435 kilometres, including 47 kilometres of all-electric mode. It targets environmentally concerned consumers looking for a combustion fuel alternative.
Co-developed with General Motors, the Honda CR-V e:FCEV features fuel cell modules from their joint venture, Fuel Cell System Manufacturing (FCSM), showcasing Honda's commitment to hydrogen technology. Producing 92.2kW of power and 310Nm of torque, along with bidirectional charging for added convenience.
The 2025 Honda CR-V e:FCEV keeps the same dimensions as the 2024 gas-powered CR-V, filled with connectivity features like HondaLink, which assists customers locate hydrogen refuelling stations, due to the limited availability of such stations in places like California.
The 2025 Honda CR-V e:FCEV will only come in the Touring trim, which will equip it with features like a 10.2-inch gauge cluster, 9-inch infotainment unit, wireless smartphone charging along with Apple CarPlay and AndroidAuto, and a 12-speaker Bose audio system. With driving modes for different conditions such as Normal, Eco, Sport, and Snow, it promises a connected drive.

The Honda CR-V e:FCEV is a testament to Honda's trust in Hydrogen fuel cell technology. Moreover, this tech is much cleaner than battery electric vehicles as the latter's energy source can be non-sustainable and environmentally harmful.
That being said, the Honda CR-V e:FCEV with its high-tech Hydrogen fuel cell technology is showing the world a more suitable alternative to battery electric vehicles. Also, we think the opportunities with Hydrogen fuel cell technology are more abundant.
