BYD Seal U SUV Revealed – India Launch In The Cards
At the 2024 Geneva Motor Show, BYD unveiled the new Seal U SUV to the world. This new SUV from BYD is available in both electric and PHEV versions, giving wide options to its target customers.
The electric version of the BYD Seal U packs in an 87kWh battery pack. Thanks to its large battery pack, the BYD Seal U delivers a driving range of up to 500km on a single charge, which is plenty for an electric SUV.
To charge this large battery pack, the BYD Seal U features a 140 kW DC rapid charging capability, allowing the model to charge from 30 per cent to 80 per cent in just 28 minutes.
In terms of design, the automaker claims that the BYD Seal U design draws hefty inspiration from oceanic elements. Furthermore, the model sports distinctive double U-shaped headlights and staggered light clusters. At the rear end, the theme continues with a continuous taillight arranged in a waterdrops matrix pattern.
Stepping inside the BYD Seal U, the interior features a floating rotatable touchscreen infotainment unit, a double-layer storage compartment and a large digital instrument cluster. The former setup acts as a central control hub by integrating intelligent voice commands and multifunctional features.
Other noticeable features in the BYD Seal U's cabin include a premium-looking crystal gear lever, electrically adjustable seats with ventilation and heating, a sliding panoramic sunroof, premium audio system, and advanced NVH technology, ensuring a serene driving environment.
Safety is also taken care of with its 5-star Euro NCAP crash test rating and the inclusion of the world's first mass-produced 8-in-1 electric powertrain system. Also, BYD has plans to launch the Seal electric sedan in India on March 5.
