Eatron Technologies And Syntiant Collaborate To Launch Innovative AI-Powered Battery Management System-on-Chip

A new system-on-chip, developed through a collaboration between Eatron Technologies and Syntiant, aims to address battery performance and safety challenges in various applications. This innovative solution integrates Eatron’s Intelligent Software Layer with Syntiant’s low-power NDP120 Neural Decision Processor.

The AI-BMS-on-chip can unlock 10% additional battery capacity and extend battery lifespan by up to 25%. It also significantly reduces time-to-market for light mobility, industrial, and consumer electronics applications. The design is optimised for ease of integration and cost-effectiveness.

Eatron’s pre-trained models provide accurate state-of-health, state-of-charge, and remaining useful life assessments. Predictive diagnostics can detect potential battery issues early, enhancing safety. The AI-BMS-on-chip operates on the edge, delivering real-time analysis and decision-making directly on the device.

This edge processing capability eliminates the need for complex cloud infrastructure, reducing costs, latency, and power consumption. The solution is customisable through a user-friendly toolchain, allowing optimisation for specific applications. Existing BMS hardware can be easily upgraded to benefit from its performance.

The AI-BMS-on-chip is suitable for a wide range of battery-powered applications, including consumer electronics, e-bikes, micro LCVs, and forklifts. "We are now running our latest AI models completely integrated on the edge in the Syntiant chip," said Amedeo Bianchimano, Chief Product Delivery Officer at Eatron Technologies.
