Hyundai Sees Record Sales In 2023: No. 2 In India
In the dynamic world of the automotive industry, the year 2023 has marked a significant milestone for Hyundai. The eminent car maker has revved up its sales, reaching an outstanding figure of 7,65,786 vehicles in 2023 alone. This impressive count has heralded a robust growth of 9 percent for the company, setting a new sales record. With such a groundbreaking achievement, it’s clear that Hyundai is shifting gears for an even more successful future.
Last December, Hyundai’s sales engine remained in high gear with the Korean auto giant selling 42,750 units on the domestic front. This figure outstrips the sales from December 2022, which stood at 38,831 vehicles, marking a noteworthy increase of 3,919 vehicles. This upward trend is a beacon of a 10.09 percent sales expansion.

However, when it comes to the month-on-month comparison, December saw a slight downturn, with sales contracting by 13.55 percent from November’s high of 49,451 vehicles. The sales curve dips as we see 6,701 fewer vehicles rolling out of showrooms in December.
Export markets told a different story with Hyundai navigating a 27.97 percent downturn in its overseas sales last December as 13,700 vehicles were dispatched from Indian shores. Puneet this against the previous year's export tally of 19,021 in the same month.

Manufacturing trends for December also saw a slight decline of 2.42 percent, with Hyundai rolling out 56,450 cars compared to 57,852 in the last lap of the previous year.

Year-End Triumphs
Turning our focus to the full-year performance for 2023, the domestic sales clocked an astounding 6,02,111 vehicles, supplemented by 1,63,675 vehicles exported. The cumulative production of 7,65,786 units signifies a leap from 5,52,511 vehicles sold domestically in 2022 and a parallel boost in exports from 1,48,300 units, culminating in a grand total of 7,00,811 vehicles.
The penetration of the Hyundai brand into the Indian market is underscored by the integration of advanced safety features in its vehicles. Post the Indian government's mandate, Hyundai has proactively equipped all its models with six airbags, reinforcing its commitment to passenger safety.

The Hyundai Verna, with its exemplary 5-star rating in the Global NCAP test, shines a spotlight on the brand's dedication to building secure vehicles. Meanwhile, models like the Hyundai Exter are seeing surging levels of interest and sales.
