Laguna Seca Receives $500K Donation For Recreation Area Development
Friends of Laguna Seca (Friends) has received a $500,000 donation from the Laguna Seca Raceway Foundation (LSRF) in collaboration with the Monterey County Parks Foundation (MCPF). This substantial contribution is fully endorsed by both LSRF and MCPF as Friends begins its 55-year stewardship of the Laguna Seca Recreation Area.
"We are encouraged by the longstanding support of both the Laguna Seca Raceway Foundation and the Monterey County Parks Foundation," said Friends of Laguna Seca CEO Lauri Eberhart. "These two local foundations share our unwavering passion to honour our local history, culture, youth and industry by prioritising community access and further development of the Laguna Seca Raceway and Recreation Area. We value their mutual vote of confidence as our team takes on the task of facility upgrades and improvements outlined in our agreement with the County."

The LSRF's president, Arthur Cook, expressed pride in supporting Friends as they assume management of the raceway and recreation area. He stated, "The Laguna Seca Raceway Foundation is proud to support Friends of Laguna Seca as they take over management and operation of the cherished raceway and recreation area."
Friends of Laguna Seca aims to revitalise and modernise the raceway and recreation area for future generations. They plan to maintain its rich history of volunteerism while enhancing visitor access and experience.
This donation signifies a strong commitment from local foundations towards preserving community heritage. The focus will be on improving facilities while ensuring that community access remains a priority.
The partnership between LSRF, MCPF, and Friends highlights a shared dedication to fostering local culture, history, and industry through this significant project.
