British Best-Seller Maeving RM1S Electric Motorcycle Debuts In The US
Maeving, a British electric motorcycle manufacturer, has introduced its latest model, the RM1S, to the US market. Initially available in California for $8,995, this model will soon be launched in other states. The RM1S combines classic motorcycle aesthetics with modern electric vehicle technology.
The RM1S is designed by former Triumph engineers and boasts a top speed of 70 mph with an 80-mile range. It features a rear hub-mounted motor delivering 7.0 kW continuous power (10.5 kW peak) and 184 ft-lbs of torque. This allows for smooth and efficient riding both in urban settings and on highways.
Maeving's RM1S offers excellent urban capabilities enhanced by highway-capable speeds. The bike weighs 293 lbs and has a seat height of 785 mm, ensuring easy maneuverability at various speeds. Riders can charge the power pack either on the bike or remove it for charging at home or work.
The design of the RM1S draws inspiration from the board tracker bikes of the 1920s and the café racer era. It features twin shocks, an analogue speedometer, and a diamond-stitched solo seat. Modern elements include powerful LED lights and responsive calipers on single discs front and back with linked braking.
The RM1S is equipped with two batteries containing LG 21700 cells that can be charged from 20% to 100% in three hours using a standard wall socket. The redesigned case housing these batteries provides 2.6 gallons of lockable storage space where a conventional petrol engine would typically be located.
