Mahindra BE.05 Electric Vehicle Spotted Yet Again: A New Challenger In India's EV Market

Mahindra is gearing up to launch its BE.05 electric vehicle, which will compete with models like the MG ZS EV, Tata Curvv EV, and upcoming Maruti eVX and Hyundai Creta EV. Among the five electric vehicles Mahindra showcased a few years ago, three are undergoing rigorous testing. The XUV.e8, XUV.e9, and BE.05 are set to be launched first.

Mahindra is on the brink of unveiling a global electric vehicle lineup with two new born-electric series – XUV.e and BE. Future lineups will include models like Thar.e, Scorpio.e, and Bolero.e. The Thar.e Concept was recently showcased at an event in South Africa.

The BE.05 has been spotted in two versions with distinct design features, likely representing base and top models equipped according to their price ranges. The recent spy shots show the top model with striking LED signatures.

The front of the BE.05 features large C-shaped LED DRLs that cover almost all the vertical space of its fascia. The design is flashy and futuristic, with an aerodynamic profile.

The rear of the BE.05 also sports a similar C-shaped LED signature around the tail lights, giving it an aggressive look. Mahindra appears to be carrying over the twin roof spoiler design from concept to production as seen in these new images.

Spy shots confirm that the interior of the BE.05 will resemble its concept version, featuring a pronounced separation between the two front seats for a cockpit-like feel for the driver—a unique approach in mainstream Indian cars.

The BE.05 will have two 10.2-inch screens for infotainment and instrumentation, unlike the XUV.e8 and XUV.e9 which have more screens. Many interior elements will be shared with other Mahindra vehicles.

What to Expect?

Previous spy shots captured next to a Maruti Suzuki Dzire suggest that the BE.05 might be smaller than anticipated. More details will emerge over time as it nears its expected 2025 launch date on the INGLO platform with an estimated 60 kWh battery.

The side profile reveals a stylish coupe-style roofline with an edgy twist, reflecting a growing trend in India’s automotive market. A massive aero scoop on the bonnet likely channels air efficiently while aerodynamic wheels reduce air drag.

In conclusion, Mahindra's upcoming BE.05 promises innovative design elements both inside and out, positioning itself as a competitive player in India's burgeoning electric vehicle market.
