Scorpio-N's New Terrain: Breaking Ground In Agriculture
In a fascinating turn of events, the Mahindra Scorpio-N has been showcased in a role far beyond its urban and rugged terrains, venturing into agriculture. More than 55% of India's population relies on agriculture as their primary livelihood, and this sector has seen numerous advancements.
However, a recent video featuring the Scorpio-N has taken social media by storm, demonstrating the vehicle's utility in farming activities - a notion presented with a touch of sarcasm. Shared by Rahul Rao Saheb on Instagram, the video captures a white Scorpio-N skillfully preparing soil for sowing, equipped with heavy-duty farming gear.

The clip begins with the Scorpio-N traversing agricultural land, surprisingly without a driver, as highlighted by the person filming. The rear view reveals the vehicle attached to not one but two disc ploughs, adeptly ploughing the ground. The owner credited the seamless performance to the attachment of the equipment to the Scorpio-N, showcasing its adaptability beyond conventional expectations.
Further showcasing the Scorpio-N's versatility, another video by the same person pits the SUV against a Mahindra farming tractor in a tug-of-war contest. Before the challenge, modifications were made to the tractor's tyres to enhance grip.
Despite these adjustments, the initial rounds of the tug-of-war saw no clear victor, with each vehicle showcasing formidable strength. However, upon moving to a cement path with the tractor positioned downhill, the Scorpio-N impressively managed to pull the tractor uphill, demonstrating its surprising capability.
In related news, Mahindra has expanded its Scorpio-N lineup with the introduction of the Z8 Select variant, positioned between the Z8 and Z6 trims, and priced at Rs 16.99 lakh. This new variant aims to offer more choices to customers, being Rs 1.65 lakh more affordable than the Z8 petrol manual variant.

The Scorpio N Z8 Select is available with both petrol and diesel engines. The petrol engine is a 2.0-litre turbocharged unit delivering 200bhp and 380Nm of torque, while the diesel version features a 2.2-litre engine producing 172bhp and 400Nm of torque. Both engines come with the option of a six-speed manual or a six-speed torque converter gearbox.
