Mandira Bedi's New Ride: The Stylish & Sustainable Volvo C40 Recharge
Actor and host Mandira Bedi recently took delivery of her new Volvo C40 Recharge electric coupe SUV. Priced at ₹62.95 lakh (ex-showroom), this vehicle is a stylish alternative to the XC40 Recharge, sharing the same underpinnings but featuring a more streamlined design with a receding roofline. Bedi was seen with her children during the delivery of this new electric car.
The Volvo C40 Recharge draws power from twin electric motors paired with a 78 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. These motors produce 402 bhp and 660 Nm of peak torque, allowing the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.7 seconds.
The vehicle has a top speed of 180 kmph and comes with All-Wheel Drive as standard, with motors mounted on each axle.
A video shared on social media shows Bedi posing with her children beside the Volvo, which she called "the safest car on the road." Volvo cars are renowned for their safety features, and the C40 Recharge is no different. It boasts a full ADAS suite, multiple airbags, a 360-degree camera, and more.
Visually, the C40 Recharge stands out with design elements characteristic of the Volvo family. These include Thor's Hammer-themed LED DRLs, a closed-off front grille, and the distinctive receding roofline. The vehicle is equipped with several advanced features to enhance user comfort and convenience.
The interior of the C40 Recharge includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument console, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and heated and ventilated front seats. Additionally, it features vegan interiors, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and wireless charging.
However, the receding roofline does reduce rear headroom, and the boot capacity is limited to 413 litres, compared to 452 litres in the XC40 Recharge.
The Volvo C40 Recharge offers a range of 530 km on a single charge. It can be charged from 10% to 80% using a DC fast charger in just 27 minutes. An 11 kW Level 2 AC charger requires about 8 hours for a full charge.
This electric SUV competes with the Kia EV6, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and BMW iX1, and will soon face new rivals like the Mercedes-Benz EQA SUV and the new-gen MINI Countryman E.
