Maruti Suzuki Dzire Base Variant: Design Highlights, Features & More
The new Maruti Suzuki Dzire has made a significant impact with its launch, especially due to its potential 5-star Global NCAP rating. The base model, the LXI Petrol MT, is priced at Rs 6.79 lakh (Ex-showroom). This variant offers a surprising array of features for a base model, making it an attractive option for buyers.
Exterior Design Highlights
On the exterior, the 4th Gen Dzire comes with remote locking and projector headlights featuring halogen bulbs. However, it lacks fog lights. The front's black elements are unpainted, as are the ORVMs and door handles. Side indicators are positioned on the fenders instead of the ORVMs. Chrome accents found in higher trims are replaced with unpainted plastic on this variant.
The rear of the Dzire LXI includes LED tail lights similar to those in higher models but with a smoked effect cover. Notably, Maruti Suzuki provides a rear defogger as standard in this base model, which is uncommon for entry-level variants. Additionally, it features a shark-fin antenna and boot lip spoiler. However, it comes with 14-inch steel wheels instead of alloy wheels.
Interior Features and Comfort
Inside, some feature limitations are evident. The driver's seat lacks height adjustment and there are no steering wheel controls due to the absence of a music system in this variant. The climate control panel appears automatic but is manual. Despite these omissions, it maintains a premium feel with its design.
The interior lighting is limited to one element serving both front and rear seats. The instrument cluster is semi-digital with an MID display but lacks second-row AC vents or a cooled glovebox. All windows have power adjustment with auto function for the driver’s side.
Powertrain Options
Under the hood, the Dzire retains its Z-Series 1.2L 3-cylinder engine, delivering 80 bhp and 111.7 Nm on petrol and 69 bhp and 101.8 Nm on CNG. It can be paired with either a 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox.
Safety Tech
Safety-wise, Maruti Suzuki has equipped this variant with six airbags and ensured it meets high crash safety standards. While some features are missing compared to higher trims, the Dzire LXI offers substantial value at its price point.
