Suzuki Swift Hatchback Scores 4 Star Safety Rating At JNCAP – ADAS, New Engine & More
According to recent reports, the new generation Suzuki Swift hatchback has scored an impressive 4-star safety rating at the Japan NCAP crash tests. This next-generation Swift hatchback is also expected to be launched very soon in the Indian market.
As such, let us take a deeper look at the JNCAP crash test of the new generation Swift hatchback. It is also worth mentioning that the next-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift hatchback will be introduced in May 2024.

Speaking about the new generation Suzuki Swift hatchback, this latest iteration of the Swift hatchback has already made its mark internationally, with numerous videos showcasing its features available online.
At Crash test evaluation, the Swift underwent a frontal collision test at a speed of 55km/h, followed by evaluations of its active safety technologies. These include automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and rear collision alert, all of which the Swift passed without any complications.
Additionally, the next-gen Swift hatchback was tested with a dummy cyclist to assess detection capabilities under various conditions, including during night and when faced with blinding high beams from oncoming traffic. The Swift's ADAS successfully managed to prevent collisions in these scenarios.
Though the upcoming model in India will lack some of these ADAS features, the vehicle's performance in frontal, front side, and side impact tests was notable for the intact condition of its pillars and timely deployment of airbags.

The detailed results from the Japan NCAP revealed the Swift's comprehensive safety capabilities, with autonomous driver assistance features contributing to a 5-star rating in specific areas.
The vehicle achieved 4 stars in the full wrap-frontal, off-set frontal collision, and passenger seat belt reminder tests while scoring top points in side collision, neck injury protection, and pedestrian leg protection tests. Overall, the Swift secured a 4-star rating with 117.80 out of 197 points.

When the all-new Swift arrives in India, it will feature the same exterior design as its international counterpart, but it will forego some of the advanced ADAS features. The interior design is also expected to remain unchanged.
Under the bonnet, the Swift will be powered by a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, naturally aspirated engine, enhanced with mild hybrid technology for improved performance and efficiency. Maruti plans to offer the hatchback with both 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options, with potential future updates to include series hybrid technology.
DriveSpark Thinks
Interest in the new Swift is already high, with some Maruti dealerships beginning to accept bookings ahead of its official launch. As anticipation builds, the next-generation Swift is poised to continue its legacy as a favoured choice among Indian consumers, offering a blend of efficiency, performance, and safety.
