Revolution Race Cars Gains American Investment To Fuel Global Growth And Innovation

Revolution Race Cars, a UK-based automotive manufacturer known for its advanced motorsport technology, has announced new funding and an expanded presence in the United States. This development comes through a partnership with Classic Car Club International, a private members motoring club in Manhattan. The investment is facilitated by Cabotage Corporation, an entity formed by Classic Car Club Inc. Directors Zac Moseley, Phil Abbott, Nigel Redwood, Marc Russell, and entrepreneur Terry Thompson.

This strategic move transfers Classic Car Club's racing dealership to Abbott Automotive Ltd., enhancing the factory’s U.S. reach and strengthening its partnership with Classic Car Club Inc. Zac Moseley will become Chairman, while Nigel Redwood will join full-time as Managing Director. James Abbott will continue as Head of Product Development, working alongside his father Phil Abbott, who will serve as Operations Director.

Revolution Race Cars' Global Expansion

Zac Moseley and Marc Russell both have strong ties with the Revolution factory. Zac heads Classic Car Club Racing in New York, while Marc was one of the first Revolution owners in the USA. Their involvement aims to bolster Revolution’s presence in the U.S., leveraging their expertise in selling high-end cars.

Phil Abbott co-founded Revolution Race Cars with his son James in 2017 to bring Le Mans Prototype technology to a broader audience. Phil's background includes engineering roles at Rolls Royce and Jaguar and co-founding Radical, where he identified a gap for high-quality national-level race cars. His experience is pivotal in Revolution's mission to democratise cutting-edge technology and uphold top safety standards.

The new phase of development will accelerate the introduction of new models designed for both novice racers and world champions. Revolution Race Cars remains committed to making Le Mans Prototype technology more accessible by offering affordable sports race cars equipped with carbon tubs and advanced features.

Nigel Redwood brings over 25 years of commercial expertise and a deep motorsport background as a seasoned driver and team manager. His longstanding relationship with Phil Abbott dates back to 2006 when he won the Radical Enduro Championship. Nigel joined Revolution Race Cars as a consultant in 2023, developing sales and marketing strategies and securing investment.

Strategic Vision

Marc Russell expressed his excitement about investing in the team and expanding Revolution's reach across North America. "The team's plans for the model lineup are impressive," he said. "I believe they will offer a broad range of cars that will appeal to a wide market." The collective experience of over 150 years in designing, building, and marketing race cars positions them strongly within the sector.

Terry Thompson also shared his enthusiasm: "I have gotten to know the Revolution team over several years, witnessing firsthand their innovation." He added that he is excited to invest in such a capable group backed by a proven track record in motorsports.

Acknowledging Contributions

Revolution Race Cars thanked current Directors Marcel Aebi, Michel Frey, Jean Gandar, and Romain Rousseaux for their support during the company's initial phase. Their contributions laid the foundation for this exciting future.

Zac Moseley highlighted the growth of motorsport in the US market over the past decade: "More than a dozen new racing circuits are under construction across America." He noted that access to motorsport academies is at an all-time high, driving Americans from golf courses to racetracks.

Future Prospects

Phil Kavanagh, founder and CEO of Classic Car Club Inc., expressed his delight at working with Revolution again: "26 years after testing at Mallory Park on a wet morning." He emphasised that Classic Car Club is excited about leading their expansion into the USA with comprehensive programs for racers at all levels.

Phil Abbott commented on this new chapter: "Today, James and I as co-founders of Revolution Race Cars are thrilled to witness our next phase." He added that they are poised to introduce exciting new models driven by their passion for innovation.

Nigel Redwood stated: "With Revolution Race Cars, I see a unique opportunity to merge my decades of commercial expertise with my lifelong passion for motorsport." He believes deeply in the Abbott family’s ability to deliver exceptional race cars.

The restructuring allows the Abbott family to focus entirely on designing top-tier prototype race cars while Nigel Redwood manages commercial operations. Jessica Moseley also joins as Director alongside Zac Moseley and Marc Russell on the board of Abbott Automotive Ltd., bringing valuable experience to the team.

Revolution Race Cars continues its mission to make advanced technology accessible globally while maintaining high safety standards. The company looks forward to an exhilarating phase of international growth and innovation under this new leadership structure.
