Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion 2025 To Feature Historic Race Groups And Formula One Exhibition
Automobile enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion from August 13-16, 2025. This event will celebrate the 75th Anniversary of Formula One at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. Known for its blend of history and excitement, the reunion will feature a variety of popular racing classes.
The event will include a special Formula One exhibition showcasing cars from different eras. This display will highlight the evolution of these high-performance machines. Additionally, the original IROC series will make a return to the West Coast for the first time since 2002. Authentic IROC race cars, driven by past competitors from various motorsport disciplines, will be on display.
The IROC series was renowned for featuring top drivers in identical cars, eliminating equipment advantages. Over its 30-year history, it included iconic models like Porsche Carrera RSRs and Chevrolet Camaros. The Reunion Advisory Council has carefully selected classes to ensure an engaging experience for both drivers and spectators.
Attendees can look forward to meeting legendary drivers and viewing iconic cars up close in the paddock. The event promises a diverse celebration of motorsport history with over 350 historic race cars participating. Each day will feature races from 13 groups and two exhibition classes, ranging from pre-1955 Grand Prix cars to modern prototypes.
The Advisory Council Chair, Bruce Canepa, emphasized the importance of selecting fan-favorite groups with significant historical relevance. "We carefully evaluate what groups are truly fan favorites and have significant cars that fully represent that era of racing to ensure a memorable experience for both drivers and spectators," said Canepa.
