Tata Curvv To Challenge Bestsellers With New Petrol Engine

Competing with bestsellers like Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Kia Seltos is challenging. However, the Tata Curvv aims to stand out with a range of segment-first and best-in-class features. Ahead of its launch on 7th August, Tata Motors has teased its new petrol 1.2-litre engine.

Earlier today, Tata Motors unveiled the name of their new 1.2-litre TGDi engine, which will power the Curvv. This direct injection turbo-petrol 3-cylinder engine delivers 125hp at 5,000 rpm and 225Nm of torque between 1,700 and 3,500rpm. It offers 5hp and 55Nm more than the Nexon.

Tata Curvv Colour Options

To cater to diverse preferences, the Tata Curvv will be available in six colour shades: Flame Red, Cosmic Gold, Opera Blue, Daytona Grey, Pristine White, and Pure Grey. Each shade will also have dual-tone options, making a total of 12 colour choices for customers.

The Flame Red shade stands out as particularly striking. This vibrant red not only highlights the vehicle's sleek lines but also complements its bold design. The dynamic curves and sharp edges of the Curvv are accentuated by this colour, making it a head-turner both during the day and night drives.

Tata Curvv Features

To compete in the compact SUV segment, Tata Curvv offers a comprehensive range of features. Exterior highlights include connected LED headlamps with Welcome and Goodbye functions, sequential LED indicators, R18 alloy wheels with Aero inserts, and flush door handles. The tech kit boasts a 12.3-inch cinematic touchscreen by HARMAN, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and the Arcade.ev app suite.

The interior features a smart digital steering wheel, phygital control panel, 6-way power adjustable driver seat, paddle shifters, powered tailgate with gesture activation, and an air purifier with AQI display. Safety features include front parking sensors, EPB with auto hold, ESP-based driver doze-off alert, and an advanced vehicle alert system. The Curvv will also feature 13 Level-2 ADAS functionalities.

Tata Curvv Powertrain Options

The ICE version of the Tata Curvv will offer three powertrain options: a 1.2-litre turbo petrol Hyperion engine and a 1.5-litre CRAIL diesel engine. For the first time in any Tata vehicle, the new 1.2-litre TGDi petrol engine will be introduced with the Curvv. This engine promises sporty and peppy characteristics.

All engines will come with transmission options consisting of a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT. Additionally, the Curvv will feature multi-drive modes including Eco, City, and Sport to suit different driving preferences.

In their teaser for the new engine, Tata Motors used terms like "HyPerformance," "HyperTech," and "HyperQuiet." These suggest that the new engine promises high levels of refinement along with improved performance and better fuel efficiency.

The upcoming Tata Curvv is set to make waves in its segment with its innovative features and powerful performance options. With its official launch just around the corner on August 7th, anticipation is building among potential buyers eager to see how it stacks up against established competitors.
