Tata Power, Tata Motors To Install 200 EV Charging Stations Across India
Tata Power EV Charging Solutions Limited, a subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tata Motors Limited. This agreement aims to establish 200 fast-charging stations for electric commercial vehicles (CVs) in major metro cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata. This initiative is part of their ongoing collaboration to provide sustainable mobility solutions and convenient charging options for small electric CVs.
Exclusive Tariffs and Network Expansion
Under this initiative, Tata Motors and Tata Power will offer exclusive charging tariffs for owners of Tata Motors' electric CVs. This will help reduce operating costs and increase profitability for customers. The planned expansion will soon give electric CV users access to nearly 1000 strategically located fast chargers across the country.

Mr. Vinay Pathak, Vice President & Business Head – SCV&PU at Tata Motors, stated, "We're pleased to strengthen our partnership with Tata Power to transform the electric commercial vehicle landscape by ensuring ease of access of fast chargers at convenient locations across the country."

This collaboration underlines our commitment to accelerating e-mobility by providing an expansive and reliable EV Charging network across India."
Tata Power's EZ Charge network includes over 1,00,000 home chargers and more than 5,500 public, semi-public, and fleet charging points. Additionally, there are 1100+ bus charging stations spread across 530 cities and towns. These chargers are strategically placed at accessible locations such as highways, hotels, malls, hospitals, offices, residential complexes etc., facilitating significant growth in electric mobility in India.
Advanced Electric Commercial Vehicles
Tata Motors offers the Ace EV, which is touted as India's most advanced small electric commercial vehicle. Supported by over 150 Electric Vehicle Service Centres nationwide, the Ace EV features an advanced battery management system and 'Fleet Edge' telematics. These technologies enhance vehicle uptime and road safety by providing real-time insights into vehicle status, health, location, and driver behaviour.
The collaboration between Tata Motors and Tata Power aims to create a robust ecosystem for electric commercial vehicles in India. By focusing on easy access to fast-charging stations and leveraging renewable energy sources where possible, they aim to make electric vehicle operations greener and more efficient.
This strategic move is expected to significantly boost the adoption of electric commercial vehicles in India by addressing key challenges related to charging infrastructure. The combined efforts of both companies highlight their commitment to promoting sustainable transportation solutions in urban areas.
The initiative underscores a broader vision for a cleaner environment through enhanced e-mobility infrastructure while supporting economic benefits for businesses using electric commercial vehicles.
