Toyota Connected North America Strengthens Leadership With New Executive Appointments

Toyota Connected North America (TCNA) has announced new leadership roles to enhance its position as a leading software developer. This move aims to solidify TCNA's role in providing data-driven services that improve the driving experience for Toyota and Lexus customers. The changes are effective immediately unless specified otherwise.

Brian Kursar, currently the chief technology officer, will transition to a new role by the end of the year. He will become the group vice president and head of AI at Toyota Motor North America (TMNA), where he will lead AI strategy across North America. Additionally, Kursar will take on a leadership position at the Toyota Research Institute (TRI) to support the Global AI Accelerator (GAIA) program.

James George, previously serving as chief operating officer, has been promoted to executive vice president and deputy chief executive officer of TCNA. He will report directly to Christopher Yang, TCNA's president and CEO. George will continue his duties as general manager of EV Charging Solutions at TMNA and remain on TCNA’s Board of Directors.

Mark McClung has been appointed as the new chief operating officer of TCNA. In his new role, McClung will oversee Business Operations and People Operations, reporting to James George. This appointment marks a significant step in strengthening TCNA's operational leadership.

Dave Tsai, who was vice president of Engineering at TCNA and vice president of Enterprise AI at TMNA, is now the chief technology officer for TCNA. Tsai will report to George and join the TCNA Board of Directors. He takes over from Brian Kursar in this role.
